Questions?
Do I have to know how to sail or can I learn it?
No, you don’t have to. But assistance might be needed during some of the maneuvers. If you want to learn how to sail, you are welcome to help and learn some knots and maneuvers. You are also welcome to stand at the helm.
What license do I need if I want to charter the boat without skipper?
Yachtmaster license and Powerbaot license (or equivalents).
Where can I sleep? How many people can sleep on board?
Along the route it is possible to stop at various ports for the overnight stay. There are showers and toilets. On the boat there are 3 cabins, each with a double berth. Thus, 6 people can sleep in cabins and another person in the living area. There is a bathroom with toilet and sink (since water is a scarce commodity on board, it is recommended to shower on land). Of course, anchoring is also possible if conditions allow. Pictures of the boat can be found here!
How is the boat equipped?
Here are all the equipment details. Feel free to look around!
Where is the boat located?
The port is located in Szczecin (Poland), you can reach the Baltic Sea via the Oder River and the Szczecin Lagoon. The journey from Berlin takes approximately 2 hours. Here you can find the exact port address and directions.
Where can be sailed?
The cruise starts in Szczecin, which has become an insider tip in recent years. Sailing is possible in the Szczecin Lagoon and the Polish or German Baltic Sea along the coastal areas of Usedom and Swinoujscie. A crossing to Denmark and/or Sweden can also be planned for longer cruises. Different routes and visiting different ports can be planned together. You can find some info about the location here!
How does a cruise take place?
After arriving at the port at 2 pm and loading the boat, we will go shopping together for food and drinks for the trip. Any preferences for cooking etc. can be coordinated (costs will be shared). After a short safety briefing, a route can be planned together (taking into account weather conditions). The tanks are filled up, we are ready to set sail!
What are the Covid rules or measures of protection?
For the cruises we follow the currently valid Corona guidelines in Poland. A complete vaccination and/or an official antigen rapid test may therefore be necessary. Please note the instructions when booking.
Can I cancel the booking?
All bookings can be cancelled free of charge up to 4 weeks before the start. Up to 2 weeks before the start of the charter 50% of the booking price can be refunded. In case of new Covid regulations that strictly prohibit sailing vacations for the booked period (lockdown or similar), the money will be refunded. Please pay attention to notes when booking.
Am I insured?
The boat and the guests are insured when you book a cruise with skipper. In case of a bareboat-charter the boat is also insured, but the renting person must pay a deposit in the amount of 1000 € and possibly take care of the insurance of the fellow sailors.
What do I need to pack?
Due to the limited space on board, please take a backpack or a sports bag (no suitcase). Solid shoes (without white soles), swimwear, sunglasses/protection, a rain jacket and warmer clothes (for rainy days) and cosmetic products (preferably biodegradable), a towel and slippers for the showers.
Optional: Sailing gloves (or cycling gloves), bedding (can also be booked).
